About Us
Bond Street is a quintessential Melbourne CBD laneway where you’ll happen upon acclaimed chef and restaurateur Shane Delia’s latest hospitality venture, Jayda, an opulent cocktail bar. Named after Shane’s daughter, the space is located at 19 Bond Street, right next door to Delia’s esteemed restaurant Maha.
Entering off the laneway, guests visiting Jayda pass through a discreet doorway on the ground floor of the art-deco ‘Alkira House’ - one of Melbourne’s first buildings to be constructed using glass bricks - before them, French wash painted walls, polished mirror surfaces, sumptuous seating and sultry lighting create an inviting ambience that’s hard to leave.
Cocktails are the first point of call at Jayda, but the same attention has been applied to the curated and punchy wine list that has scoured the Maha cellars for the best of the best wines for Jayda’s offering. Displayed across the back of the bar, a thoughtful list of Australian and international spirits are available.
Being a Delia Group venue food is always a focus and at Jayda it is no different. Although at Jayda the menus comprises a menu that takes inspiration form the middle east and throughout the mediterranean.
Jayda’s interiors are sumptuous and luxurious and a focal point of the front bar is the cladded curved green bar with a black marble top, which sits like a gemstone amongst the surrounding seating, which ranges from
at-the-bar, to high top tables, to larger tables for groups of six or more.
A sneak preview of the queen street facing lounge can be viewed down the narrow corridor past the kitchen. Stepping through the archway, the area features an art-deco aesthetic and low tables and sofas ideal for groups or intimate date nights – either way, once guests sink into the sofas with a cocktail in hand,
they will never want to leave.
